Glace Italienne (Pozzetto Gelato)

Though it was the first thing I thought of when I saw it, this is not a fancy dish of mashed potatoes, scooped up cafeteria-style with a big well in the middle for gravy. No, it’s giant portion of fior di latte gelato, ready to be drowned in espresso and turned into one of my favorite treats: Caffé affogato.

Mâcher ou Ne Pas Mâcher, Voilà la Question (Huitrerie Régis)

It is a weekly thing now. I eat there more frequently than any other restaurant. When I’m there, slurping up noodles, all I can think about is when I’ll be able to come back. I crave Ippudo.

The sight of bananas blackening on the counter can only mean one thing: Time to make banana nugget cookies.
