I would like to dedicate this photo to every Parisian cashier who has ever given anyone a hard time for not having de la monnaie, or change.

This was not my table. I would never, ever give away that much coinage knowing that I would be going to the market in a day or two, where small money is always appreciated.
Except when it’s not: A vendor once returned the two centime piece I gave her saying, “I have no use for this.”
