Song Heng

I like pho, but I love bo bun.I love the noodles, I love stirring up the bowl so that the dressing coats the lettuce and sprouts and beef. I love the crunch of the peanuts, the freshness of the mint. It’s what I order every time I go to Song Heng.

I’ve said before that I like a restaurant that recognizes its limitations, but before having lunch here, you’ll need to recognize your own. If you don’t like waiting in lines, arrive early or avoid this address altogether. If you like having more than two items to choose from on a menu, this is not the place for you. If it will annoy you to be asked to move, mid-lunch, to make room for more people at the table, then stay away.

But if you’re hungry, have €10 in your pocket and like bo bun or pho, head to rue Volta.

Song Heng 3 rue Volta, Paris 75003. Lunch only.
