I was already planning on doing some kind of year-end summary — mainly because I am lazy and thoroughly entrenched at the moment in a holiday cycle of eat, drink, sleep, repeat – but I also because I wanted to highlight some of my favorite posts of the year for new readers, and there are a lot of you, thanks to a certain foodblogging juggernaut who was kind enough to invite me to do a guest post on his site.

So, without further ado:
In Paris: Happy Nouilles is one of my favorite places for cheap eats. I think the hipster wine bars of Paris should form an intramural athletic league. Tholoniat makes an amazing mille-feuille. I do not have a crush on Inaki Aizpitarte. Chez l’Ami Jean remains a favorite.

Not in Paris: Some people think Noma is the world’s best restaurant. I faced a demon in Hong Kong at BO Innovation, and then did it again later the same day.

Memoir-ish: Read about some trouble my Dad got into when he was stationed in Spain in the 60s. Read about some trouble I got into in high school.
Recipes: This post landed me a boyfriend. I’m not kidding. The only problem with having rhymed “cherry cobbler” with “Lloyd Dobler” is that I can never do it again. There was familial tension around our beloved banana nugget cookies.

Many of you have asked how you can subscribe to my blog via email, and so I’ve added a tool that will allow you to do that: Either click here or use the box on the right hand side of the main page.
There are other ways you can keep in touch: I’m on Twitter; I have a Flickr stream; I’m the assistant editor of Paris by Mouth; I do a weekly restaurant review for Girls’ Guide to Paris; I do walking tours with Context Travel.
Happy New Year, everyone!
